Best.Gift.Ever

Today our church elders gave every member one of the best gifts ever.

Seriously.

A membership, though our church congregation, to a web site called RightNowMedia.org.  Have you heard of it?  I hadn’t until last week when we were told to be expecting an email invitation.  It’s like Netflix for Bible Study junkies.  That would be me.  I love to learn.  😀  As a member of our church body, each individual sets up a sign in and password.  We have a profile to make it easier to find the type of studies we want to use, and each account has a queue to save items of interest.

My profile says I’m interested in items for women’s ministry, kids, marriage, pastoral growth, small group studies, teens, etc.

The kids area is full of video series, and even movies, that teach biblical principles.  My 7 year old son was ecstatic to find Buck Denver.  I was excited to find Moody Science videos.  Animated Bible Man, Boz, Superbook, Owlegories, Penguins, Auto-B-Good (character series with cars), 5 minute Family Devotional clips geared for kids, and so much more is available, most of which I’ve never heard of.  Who needs Netflix?  Screen time will still be limited, but this is the type of thing I look for, and it’s now all in one place!  🙂

Adult studies include Ravi Zacharias, David Platt, Louie Giglio, Ann Voskamp, Family Life, Shaunti Feldhauhn… all the teachers you know and plenty you’ve never heard.  Hundreds.  Bible studies, conference videos, downloadable video illustrations, and more are on the menu.  Wow.

I don’t know where to start.  Right now I’m just exploring, but tomorrow I look forward to beginning SOMETHING new.  With a new baby arriving soon, I have many hours of round the clock rocking and snuggling to look forward to and I will enjoy being able to learn during some of those hours.

I know many of the ladies at church are finding a devo series they are excited to listen to during times of the day that their hands are full, not to take the place of their normal God time, but in addition to it.  I am looking forward to seeing how this might impact the spiritual growth curve.

YES!!! We have the Right Now Media thanks to my husband being super keen on the latest technology things for Christians in the church (I don’t think I’d ever have logged on to be honest)! But it’s been WONDERFUL resource.

Wanted to add, the other night I read your post on your homeschool curriculum this year, and WOW was I ever impressed! I’m actually going to purchase a couple of the books you linked to! So thank you for taking the time to write all of that out – it was very inspiring and encouraging.
